Flaxseed oil

Flax seed is the seed of (oil) flax. By pressing and processing these seeds, a clear oil is made that is dark yellow to light brown in colour. The residual product of the oil pressing is called flaxseed or linseed meal and used as animal feed.

This oil has the highest content of Omega-3 fatty acids of all vegetable oils and offers many health benefits. Flaxseed oil is not suitable for baking and frying, but it can be used in the kitchen as a dressing, with yoghurt or in smoothies.
